With the release of the Ethereal Enclave album, Rare Seed delivers a colorful and lush approach to indie-rock with jazz undertones that impart a catchy and addictive soundscape.
"Clarion Call functions as a wakeup call. It's a plea to strive and to contribute to the world, despite all the messed up stuff in which we're embroiled. So many of the greats in music and cinema have passed away over the past decade - David Bowie, Phife Dawg, Prince, David Lynch, the list can go on and on - but coming to terms with the mortality of these larger-than-life figures makes you see how it's possible to make things in this world. The challenge is just that of being open and willing and not gatekeeping yourself or the work too much." explains the band of the single.
"Anything that draws a line between the latin-prog, psychedelic wig-outs of early Santana and the avant-gardening music of Stereolab via the lush soundscapes of Tame Impala will always be a band that you will want to take a closer look at.” - Dancing About Architecture
“Threading airy vocal leads [and] carrying smooth melodies, the band crafts a catchy and immersive sonic fabric that wraps you in a heady embrace” - Plastic Magazine
“New Orleans-based Rare Seed are on a wild ride. Oiled vocals [and] lysergic airs prepare the listener for [a] true apocalyptic propulsion that erupts in vigorous, synergetic and seductive chaos…of the highest order!” - Roadie Music Blog
"Be sure to transcend and be transported to an abstract sphere of rock consciousness in ways reminiscent of the oldies like Hawkwind and King Crimson." - Apollo’s Harp
"As the melodies unfold, there's a bit of charm that keeps us there. The band’s approach to songwriting in Clarion Call feels danceable, solid, and brings on the reminder of some classic indie rock we all know and love." - Rag Talent
"This song is very exciting, the melody of this song is very attractive, the vocals are well captured, this song has conveyed a good feeling to me" - God and Me
With the release of Ethereal Enclave, indie rock outfit Rare Seed crafts a sonically rich, genre-blurring statement that pulses with jazz undercurrents and existential resolve. - Thoughts Words Action

At its core, Rare Seed is a contemporary rock band drawing heavy influence from Stereolab, Thee Oh Sees, and My Bloody Valentine. Their music blends rhythmic and harmonic elements from a wide range of genres, including modal and traditional jazz, classical, hip-hop, and the soaring jazz-pop sounds of Koji Kondo.
Yet, such descriptions only scratch the surface of the harmonic and rhythmic depth found in Ethereal Enclave. Rare Seed’s sound is best understood through the diverse backgrounds of its members. The creative heart of the band, drummer, lead singer, lyricist, and guitarist Lex Condes, comes from a post-punk and metal background, having played in bands like Leafdrinker. His lyrics weave together existential philosophy and Eastern spiritual practices, offering moments of peace amid chaos. His knack for crafting infectious melodies and hooks is undeniable—Ethereal Enclave is filled with them.
Guitarists Ben Parker and Connor Herring bring virtuosity through fluid lead lines, channeling the energy of The Allman Brothers and Cream while layering funk and psychedelic dreamscapes with inventive pedal work and distortion. Keyboardist Andrew Wise, with his classical and early jazz roots, shapes the band’s thematic development.
