With the release of "Volunteer Hero", Nick Simone delivers an electro pop tonality that expands into experimental textures and tones all performed with the likeness of a live show including an unstoppable energy.
"I went to church for my entire childhood and was also a victim of physical childhood abuse on top of it and abandonment, but I was always taught to keep your head up and keep moving forward.
So in 2022 on my album The Acid Prophet Pt. 3 (THEE BOOM GOD) I wrote a song about this experience called “Professional Victim”. Where i ask why this person is crying over such trivial things, and I acknowledge that there is no such thing as a professional victim, as it makes a mockery of the whole concept of victimization for profit.
This diss track was an underground sensation and actually reached this band it was about.
After this, the only course of action forward was to double down on my beliefs and create a follow up to this track.
The goal was to create a similar feel to Professional Victim but have it tell the exact opposite message this band was preaching.
Instead of singing about being apathetic or jaded, I begin the track telling the listener to never give up no matter how long or far you’ve gone. I also sing about becoming your full and truest self, even in the faces of people who are openly jealous, envious and hostile towards your art and craft, and shining despite any negativity. And the most important message I try to relay is to become the greatest version of yourself; for yourself and no one else. The most important line at the end stressing that when it is your time to shine, you take that chance and you become the hero for yourself and your community that they need to uplift yourself and others," explains Nick of the single.
With church members and even his mother playing piano as he grew up, Nick Simone learned to play at the age of 8 and thus began his musical journey. Later, when he was a teenager, he picked up his firs guitar and took lessons from friends.
In 2018, he started a band with a longtime friend called Acid Cult who went onto release several EP's before eventually breaking up a year later.
In 2019, Nick released his first solo EP “I Fear What Lies Ahead” and an album “The Acid Prophet Pt. 1” following shortly after both of which were experimental as he was finding his sound at the time.
In the following years he would go on to release more albums and tour throughout Utah, California, Washington, Texas, Georgia, and Florida.
In 2022, Nick released “The Acid Prophet Pt. 3 (THEE BOOM GOD), and album that strayed from his formula but served its purpose well.
Releasing the final album of the Arcangelo il Demoni trilogy “The Time of Judgement” in 2023 marked the final installment of the series as a music project and this point started the adaption process and transition into the graphic novel and RPG game on PC bringing his love for comics, movies, games, and music together.
"Volunteer Hero" is part of the upcoming album "The Acid Prophet Pt. 4 (A Dub in the Sun)" which serves as a spiritual successor to The Acid Prophet Pt. 3 (THEE BOOM GOD) and serves as the logical conclusion of that sound he has established.
