With the release of “Mosquito Season”, Lost On The Metro deliver an indie rock powerhouse that feels cinematic and driving, while not pushing far from the band's roots.
“Mosquito Season started as a poem about my parents’ toxic marriage and the way they used silence as a bandaid to cover wounds that festered for decades. It took me years to learn to express my emotional needs and I’m still terrible at it. I know that part of the everyday experience I live was formed by their struggle to communicate openly. We assume so much about each other if we don’t open our mouths to have the hard conversations. The song is a metaphor for all the nagging doubts that creep in while you have conversations with yourself instead of opening yourself up to someone else. There’s parts of me living in the lyrics because the poem came from a place of deep introspection on my own life and how my parents’ choices informed my choices as I grew up," says songwriter Jilly Morey of the single.
"Percolating in grunge, indie, country, and a little bit of everything for years, we have developed our own unique lyrical and melodic style. We hit hard with searing, raw lyrics wrapped in beautiful guitar melodies and rich harmonies. We are Lost on the Metro. It’s ok to be lost. It’s ok to take awhile to find your way." - LOTM
