With the release of "Star Lake", Jonathan Foster takes a fresh approach to a classic style. Laced with addictive melodies, beautiful undertones, and plenty of character, the record boasts the aesthetic of Americana anthems.
"I was born in Star Lake, New York, in the smallest hospital in the state, where my mother also worked as a nurse. I attended K-12 up the road and across the street from a small, beautiful Adirondack lake that came alive each summer after school was out.
This is a nostalgic song I wrote and recorded as a welcome earworm for the season with a melodic soundscape carried by tasty lap steel guitar (Mo Ford), hand
percussion (John Hannaford), bass guitar groove (Bruce Turgon), with acoustic guitar, autoharp, and vocals by yours truly. You'll hear a nod to the timeless traditional nursery rhymes "Star Light, Star Bright" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and we're featuring an accompanying music video taken from my recent touring around Southern
Oregon and Northern California.”
Jonathan explains of his single.
Jonathan Foster has been involved with music since the age of 15 when a friend gave him a classical guitar and over time, he began slowly but surely teaching himself chords and arrangement.
He eventually had a solo in his school's musical production of Guys and Dolls which he performed at 17, and soon after had written his first song called "Selfish" which was later published.
The artist has now written over 100 songs and released 6 studio albums along with performing his 800th live show.
"I am a much more accomplished singer, songwriter, and guitar player than I was a decade ago and I have added the harmonica to my regular repertoire for the past 5 years. My sound still has a similar thread throughout my career, as I have always strived to be the most authentic to what I can be singing with an acoustic guitar."
says Jonathan of how he has grown as an artist.
"Jaguar Butterfly" is available for streaming and download on all major outlets on May 7th and the artist is already working on new material for upcoming releases this summer.
