With the release of the "“WhoYouAre (Stardust)” single, Chris Thomas & The Merrymakers deliver a psychedelic folk atmosphere with an honest approach and a personal tonality.
“WhoYouAre (Stardust)” is generally about finding your place in this universe to spark a note in the momentum of time, after you feel like you’ve already peaked in your prime but still on the prowl to find peace and set your spirit at ease," explains Chris of the single.
Although the track speaks volumes for the band, to get a full understanding of where Chris Thomas & The Merrymakers are coming from, there is plenty more to hear.
Christopher Thomas had a musical journey that started with the legendary Kurt Cobain. Once he found Kurt at just 12 years old, it not only gave him the fire to create music but also the idea that anyone could do this if they really wanted to.
Cobain inspired him to pick up a guitar and begin writing his own songs.
Once he started it was hard to stop and at just 13, he had written his first album.
Over the next decade plus, Thomas built himself up, focused on songwriting and releasing music, and has grown and evolved as a person and with his artistry.
"I feel like it’s naturally gotten more mature in lyrical content but still keeps the daydream-like trance of a good song. I definitely release a lot more acoustic stuff now than I ever did over the past 14 years," says Chris of how his sound has evolved.
After releasing multiple albums, EP's and singles, the artist has paved his own path in the music world and “WhoYouAre (Stardust)” along with "FromTheTop 2.0" are both new singles that showcase where he at with his sound right now.
