With the release of the full length Stories album, The Ordinary Things takes a fresh approach to some classic genres and gives the record a life all its own. Laced with addictive progressions, an energetic and melodic vocal approach, and youthful pop overtones, the record boasts the aesthetic of alternative rock anthems.

The new single, “Walking With Giants", immediately grabs you with it's infectious vocals, followed by it's building arrangement allowing it to build and breathe as it plays on.

"Walking with Giants speaks to times in life that are difficult, trying, when we feel helpless, when we feel small in the world. It's a song about resilience, that we can walk among big things and be ok, remain grounded, and find beauty and growth in any situation. Whatever 'giants' we are all walking with can become companions and teachers, regardless of where we are in our lives." explains songwriter Jacqueline Chacon of the bands single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the album, to get a real understanding of where The Ordinary Things is coming from, it should be heard in its entirety.

"There are familiar themes explored throughout the album. It’s a combination of human experience, emotions, and sometimes just the mundane.I think we have a better sense of what we’re looking for. We dipped our toe in with some keys/synth incorporated but now are using that more frequently. Our vocal harmonies have evolved tremendously since the album as well. " says songwriter Chacon of creating the record.

The Ordinary Things is the brainchild of married couple Jacqueline and Andrew Chacon who, after writing songs together realized they were onto something. It wasn't until they met Justin McLauchlin, who picked up bass guitar, that the lineup was complete. With Jaqueline on vocals and drums, and Andrew playing guitar, the trio went on to write and record until Stories was finally born. The album is a testament to where they are at with their sound right now.

Stories is available now for streaming and downloads on most major digital outlets and the band is currently working on new material for upcoming releases.
