With the release of the Something To Prove EP, The Byways takes a fresh approach to some classic genres and give the record a life all its own. Lush with addictive progressions, pop undertones, and a catchy vocal approach, the record boasts the aesthetic of folk rock anthems.

The first single, “Believe In Me", immediately grabs you with it's infectious pop sensibility, followed by it's building arrangement allowing to build and breathe as it plays on.

"'Believe In Me' is about being so low that you need someone else to pull you out.  It's about a person that made such a huge impact in your life that you could never express it or repay them.  It's about being shown unconditional love, and how transformative that is for your mind and soul." explains songwriter Alex Goettel of the bands single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the EP, to get a real understanding of where The Byways is coming from, it should be heard in its entirety.

"This EP is all about me coming to terms with myself, my life experiences, and my past mistakes.  It's about understanding yourself, forgiving yourself, and loving yourself so you can move forward.  This EP forced me to get to a more creative place than I had ever been in before. I think now we're more confident that our songs will find a way to speak for themselves. We’re less afraid, more creative, and more open to new directions." says Goettel of creating the record.

At the helm of The Byways is Alex Goettel who started the project in 2016 with the goal of showcasing his songwriting talents.  After a couple years of playing breweries, coffee shops and clubs, the artist decided to make it a full band and brought on guitarist Rob Veron, bassist Nick Lenhard, and his brother Matt  Goettel on drums.

Now, with a  full  lineup in place, the band hit the clubs and kept up their chopps as they released their debut EP Something To Prove. The release is a testament to where they are at with their sound right now.

Something To Prove is available now for streaming and downloads on most major digital outlets and the band is always working on new material for upcoming releases.
