With the release of the Change the World EP, Matt Harper takes the best parts of several electronic genres and builds a sound all his own. Laced with addictive melodies, warm undertones, and plenty of character, the record boasts the aesthetic of electro-pop anthems.

"Change the world is my frustrations really with the world today as I see it. The conflicts, politics, social influence and a general selfishness I see in some parts of society. I also wanted to put out a positive message about living your own life and reaching for your dreams," explains Matt of what inspired the record.

The release speaks volumes for Matt as a songwriter and artist and serves as a testament to where his at with his sound right now.

When Matt was in school he learned trumpet, but it wasn't anything that really pushed him into music. It wasn't until he was in a motorcycle accident that things really changed. As he recovered from the accident his mother brought him a Casio keyboard and he ended up learning some of his favorite synth-pop songs on it.

Although that started the fire, it was a Depeche Mode concert he attended that really served as the catalyst for his love of music creation.

He was almost immediately in bands, programming sequences, creating with drum machines, and writing but that lasted about a year or so.

Matt would go on to join an indie-pop group playing keys but that also ended up dying out after a few years.

The artist finally decided to go solo and it was one of the best ideas he could have had.

Writing a single and then a full album in 2021, the fire for music creation was lit once again and Matt was all over it.

Change the World is a culmination of the sounds that have inspired him throughout the years.

The EP is available on all major outlets for streaming and download and has found a home at EDM Records.
