With the release of "Lop it Off", Lipstick Stains takes a new approach to some classic genres to create something all their own. Laced with character, an edgy and colorful undertone, and plenty of hooks, the record boasts the aesthetic of alternative pop rock anthems.
"Lop It Off is a cathartic track that provides a visceral outlet for those seeking justice. When the voiceless are searching for a voice, this skull-stomping power anthem gives the listener a moment to let go of their rage and harness a sense of well-deserved empowerment. " explains the band of the single.
Although the singles speak volumes for the band, to get a full understanding of where Lipstick Stains is really coming from, their previous releases should be heard as well.
“We typically like to let the creative juices flow when bringing a new song to life. While writing, we usually don't put much thought into the song's finished product - we just let the universe take the lead and buckle up for a ride on the melodic journey.” says the band of writing new songs.
Lipstick Stains began in 2018 with the release of the Garter Straps & Bottle Caps EP which was completed by only Xanthe (vocals) and Ryan (guitar). The idea was to find more members to join and finish the full line up. The band is now joined by Zak (bass) and Michael (drums) and released the Open Your Eyes and Controlled Chaos along with recently signing to Emotions False Records with the previously released "Discoteca" single.
"Friendly Reminder" is a testament to where they are at with their sound right now.
