With the release of the LAZARUS single, Julia Powell gives a bountiful performance vocally as she delves into an alternative-pop soundscape the borders a soulful and cinematic approach.

"Lazarus is about coming back to music. After my last EP, Ephyra, I burned out a little and had to focus on life for a minute. That was two years ago, and my life is so different now. So I decided it was time to finally come back. I wrote Lazarus as an apology to my fans who hadn't heard from me for a while, and an announcement that I am back - for good," explains Julia of her single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the artist, listening to her previous releases is a must.

Following a hiatus from music for a few years, Julia Powell returns with a powerful set of songs that redefine how she approaches her genre.

After the release of the Ephyra album, Julia took a break from music and it seems that during that time, her life has changed.

Her initial return was with her single "2019" released earlier this year.

The track showcased her daring and honest approach to creating her music and it delivered character along with it.

"Lazarus" is a powerful and edgy song that signifies her bringing music back into her life full-time.

You can hear the fire behind the song's lyrics and vocals.

Since then, she has released several LIVE music videos with her performing throughout her home and although these are outside the box in their aesthetic, the performances are outstanding.

"Lazarus" is available for streaming and download on all major outlets and Julia is always working on new material for upcoming releases.

"I am working on an album - It's called Hadal and it is a follow up to my last EP. Most of the songs are already written, so it's all just finishing touches now. I'm releasing it over time, aiming for one song a month for the entirety of 2025. I wrote these songs when I was in my 2 year burn out, angry, unsatisfied, and trying to figure out what to do with my life. I poured a lot of myself into them, it's a very raw album for me. So, I'm giving them all space to breathe on their own as singles before the album comes out in full," says Julia.
