With the release of their self-titled album, I've Tried Sleeping takes a new approach to blending genres to create something all their own. Laced with character, plenty of classic hooks, the record boasts the aesthetic of pop rock anthems.

The first single "Hard Hitting Rock" grabs you with an infectious style and genuine feel from start to finish.

"Mother channels Tipper Gore and takes my copy of The Wall.  Then fingers get pointed at the shitty stewards of the rock music industry responsible for its implosion.  I have a near-death experience that draws me out of hibernation to make this record.  And now It's time to TURN IT UP LOUD.  3rd song of the album to drop on 11/13/22."  explains songwriter Charlie Edwards of the single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the album, to get a full understanding of where I've Tried Sleeping is really coming from, their previous releases should really be heard as well.

"With earlier recordings, I never successfully captured a tune that legitimately rocked.  I did capture "frantic" and "chaotic".  And a number of tracks that you'd categorize under "rock" and "played at rocking", but certainly nothing that face-melted or head-banged on its own merit.  There are moments on this record that truly do rock (like the end of BUILD SOMETHING GOLDEN). ” explains songwriter Charlie Edwards.

I've Tried Sleeping is the brainchild of songwriter Charlie Edwards, and it all came to this from being affected by music at a young age, and in a different way than most. Introduced to classic rock at only 10 years old, he'd listen to albums like Dark Side of The Moon and feel like he took that journey and somehow made it back on his own.

Picking up his first acoustic guitar at the age of 17, Edwards learned to play the standards and before long began to put together bands. This started off a bit slower but that was until he relocated to Los Angeles and started performing with bands that had more of an artsy and alternative tone.

The release of the self-titled I've Tried Sleeping album is a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.

The album is available on most major digital outlets and Edwards is always working on new material for upcoming releases.
