With the release of the fonder with time EP, Henri Julien takes the best parts of several genres and builds a sound all his own. Laced with addictive melodies, warm undertones, and plenty of character, the record boasts the aesthetic of personality coated Americana anthems. 

 

"Fonder with Time is a deeply personal project for me. After Aquarius Dreams disbanded, I felt this urge to go back to my roots and explore the memories of my childhood in rural Ontario. The EP is about nostalgia and the bittersweet feelings that come with reflecting on the past. It's about understanding that the present moment often can't be fully appreciated until it's become a memory. It speaks of the tender moments shared with others; and the missteps and blunders. The blend of sunkissed memories and the regretful things you might have said or done. The simple beauty of looking at someone who is looking back at you, only to begin to smile. It explores how days become years, and how years even more quickly become decades. The blissful joy of being with others, and the inevitable heartbreak that accompanies their loss. Writing this album was a cathartic experience, allowing me to process and give meaning to those past experiences. Each track is a piece of my story, a way to connect with listeners on a personal level," explains Henri of the record.

The musical journey of Henri Julien began with his childhood days in rural Ontario where his mother taught him to play piano at the age of 8.

 

It wasn't very long after his first set of piano lessons that Julian began writing his own songs.

 

He quickly realized there was something magical and special about creating music and it became something that he held onto and grew very passionate about.

 

Although he kept playing piano, the guitar remained a mystery to him for some time but soon became a go-to instrument for songwriting.

 

It was the aspect of not knowing the guitar intimately that triggered his curiosity about the sound and it all let him create spontaneously which she found beautiful.

 

The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has already released two Studio EP's and collaborated on albums with other artists,

 

"The music videos for Fonder with Time are all out now, so I'm mostly working on new songs. I'm also diving into some film projects to bring my stories to life visually. Barcelona has been a huge source of inspiration for me, and I'm looking forward to collaborating with local artists here. Plus, I have a few ideas for a new album that I'm itching to start on. It's an exciting time, and I can't wait to share more with everyone," says Henri about what's to come.

Produced by Stephen Gibb in Montreal, fonder with time sticks to a deepening folk and Americana style that tells detailed stories and lets the artist give pieces of himself along the way.

 

The record serves as a testament to where Henri is at with his sound right now.
